This small medieval village is built on a rocky outcrop near the Cascades du Sautadet, which is classified as a natural landmark. The limestone formations are five million years old, and the whole is dominated by a castle and a chapel. The remains of ramparts are still visible.

The narrow medieval bridge, a classified historical monument, spans the Cèze with its twelve arches. The village was awarded the label of the "Most Beautiful villages of France" association in 2007. The Cascades du Sautadet is an exceptional but dangerous site. The "Giant's cooking pots" are cylindrical cavities naturally formed in the rocky river bed by the swirling motion of pebbles.
